Synapses Games is a board game publisher based in Canada, founded in 2018 by Carl Brière. The founder has a passionate love of the world of board games since his introduction to them at the age of 5. Surrounded by family and friends, he was first introduce d to chess and slowly into more varieties of mechanics and styles of games.
With his international experience acquired in the gaming industry, where he has worked with many prestigious companies, Carl now brings his expertise and know-how to fulfill a lifelong dream of running his own publishing studio, Synapses Games.
Synapses Games develops and publishes board games that are easy to learn, quick to explain, and are suitable for beginners and challenging the more strategic gamers. Synapses Games seeks to create exciting experiences and foster connections between people.

With over 15 years’ experience in the board game industry, Carl scouts out the games that Synapses Games goes on to develop and publish. His main responsibilities include overseeing product development, production agreements and international sales.
While Marie-Elaine was originally a designer in the fashion industry, she has been showcasing her
talents in the board game industry for the past ten years. She is the creative genius behind the masterpieces that are Synapses Games’ products.
Marketing & Communications Director
A former journalist and communications advisor, Josée comes up with our marketing strategies and is in charge of promoting our games through photos, videos and texts. She ensures that our games get as much exposure as possible on various platforms, from North America all the way to Oceania, as well as Europe and Asia.
Community Relations & Marketing Coordinator
Thanks to his wide range of experience in the board game industry, acquired over the past 11 years by working in sales, purchases, marketing and event managing, Frédéric is now in charge of media and reviewer partnerships, customer service and coordinating marketing activities with our distributors.
Despite his background in logistics, Marc chose to switch career paths and has worked in visual media for nearly five years now. His talents are apparent in the graphic design of many of our games, as well as Synapses Games’s branding.
